Walking in the Stories of our Mountains
“Walking In the Stories of Our Mountains” is an exquisitely crafted immersive sound walk that uses scientific and social knowledge to create a unique sensory and reflective experience. The work, created by artist Zoë Rush, was the outcome of a year-long residency in the uplands of the Dingle Peninsula. Experiencing the piece, the listener is invited into the lives of a community of farmers that live passionately in a timeless landscape with their animals, while also negotiating the complexities of modernity where farming and land management is regulated and framed by policies and subsidies. “Walking In the Stories of Our Mountains” is an immersive experience that invites listeners to witness the complexity of living with the land in a time of climate adaptation.
